This paper looks at the representation of Cornwall as a frightening, primitive, and Gothic space in literature in the nineteenth century, and how these representations are influenced by cultural changes in the county in this period. From Bram Stoker to Thomas Hardy to Arthur Conan Doyle, join us to find out more about Cornwall’s ghosts and ghouls.
