Cornish Astronomy Heritage / Dark Skies: Bright Stars Project

Take a journey through the numerous astronomical discoveries of Cornwall’s rich 6000-year astronomy heritage with the Mayes Creative team. Their Dark Skies: Bright Stars project, focusing on the archaeoastronomy heritage of East Cornwall, has introduced schools and community groups to The Hurlers stone circles on Bodmin Moor as well as the important work undertaken by Cornish astronomers, Richard Haydon, and John Couch Adams, who discovered Neptune. With Carolyn Kennett (FRAS), historian of astronomy / Editor of The Society for The History of Astronomy Bulletin magazine; and Brian Sheen (FRAS), Director of the Roseland Observatory / RAS Education and Outreach Committee; introduced by Dr. Joanna Mayes, Director, Mayes Creative. www.mayescreative.com
