The Delicious Kernow Trail is a brand new food festival on the run, taking place in and around Padstow on the 21st of May. This innovative trail will celebrate the local landscape and the food and drink produced within it - whilst raising money for the South West based children's charity CHICKS, who provide free respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK - including hundred from Cornwall.
The 10 or 15 mile trail starts at Camel Creek Adventure Park (formally Cornwall's Crealy) and follows a way-marked scenic course along footpaths, country lanes and coastal trails. Runners will stop off at a dozen or more pubs, shops and restaurants enroute in and around Padstow to sample a variety of locally produced appetisers. By the time they reach the finish at Trevibban Mill Vineyard, participants will have enjoyed over a dozen different bitesize tasters from puddings and pies through to beers and liqueurs.
Early bird entry fee £30 until 1st April (after that £35 until entries close on 8th May). The Delicious Kernow Trail is supporting CHICKS charity, £7.50 from each entry fee is donated to CHICKS and additional fundraising is encouraged and greatly appreciated. Groups are being offered an "enter 5 and get one place free". To enter, and for full details, contact Jo Smith-Scott by e-mail or visitwww.deliciouskernowtrail.co.uk
