The Great Estate is Cornwall’s newest summer festival taking place in the prestigious grounds of Scorrier House near Redruth. Surrounded by 450 acres and embodying an important part of Cornish history, Scorrier House provides the perfect location for a summer party. This year’s headline acts include English rock heroes Echo and the Bunnymen, YouTube cover star Daisy Clark, Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show, The Showhawk Duo and Electric Swing Circus.
Glitz, glamour and risqué happenings also fill the festival agenda. From dazzling cabaret and flamboyant burlesque, to fire dancing and sword swallowing, The Great Estate fuses a weird and wonderful blend of live performances which add a unique element to this diverse new event.
Other festival highlights include the onsite wellness area, secret gin garden, vintage marketplace, woodland silent disco and classical corner. Smaller festival goers will also be kept busy in the dedicated children’s area filled with fairground rides, bouncy castles, forestry workshops, face painting, circus skills training and storytelling.
Guests wanting to learn a little more about Scorrier House can join one of the scheduled guided tours or take a tethered hot air balloon ride to see the estate from high above the trees.
Energetic festival goers can cycle to and from the festival via the picturesque Mineral Tramways Coast to Coast Trail. Starting from Portreath, Bissoe or Devoran, cyclists can meander along the early horse-drawn tramroads to the gates of Scorrier House.
Adult weekend camping tickets are priced at a pocket friendly £71.50 (plus booking fee) and entry is free for children under 10.
