Tywardreath Players are proud to bring you 'Tommy’s Suitcase'.
Written by Richard Hope-Pears, it tells the local story of Thomas Agar-Robarts MP, who lived at Lanhydrock House.
Thomas could have had anything he desired, but chose to give up everything, volunteering to defend King and Country in World War One. He was recommended for the Victoria Cross.
Receiving his suitcase containing his military and personal effects, his grief-stricken mother had it packed away in the attic at Lanhydrock.
There it remained for 84 years untouched and gathering dust.
The Players have taken items and researched local history to show you a life of humour, political wranglings, heroism and sacrifice
