Cardinham Woods

Perched on the edge of Bodmin, Cardinham Woods is a protected woodland offering a network of walking trails that wind their way through canopies of trees and alongside bubbling brooks. Trails are carefully signposted and designed for all abilities, so whether you are taking your furry friend for an amble, or are in need of a bracing afternoon hike, there will be something for you. Totalling 650 acres, the historic woodland is home to an abundance of wildlife, a traditional clapper bridge, and the remnants of old Cornish mines.

The woods also boast several cycling trails designed for mountain bikes and, like the walking trails, these are beautifully maintained by Forestry England, with plenty of choice respective to length and ability. The Badger Forest School, on site, runs an array of programmes throughout the year, from birthday parties to holiday clubs, and is a fantastic place for kids to learn about nature and survival. Needless to say, there are endless activities for all the family to enjoy at Cardinham Woods.

Whilst there is a charge for parking, entry to the woodland is free, and dogs are welcome. Facilities include loos, a picnic area, the Woods Café, and a play area.
