North 55
Original abstract art from a family collective.
Abstract artists Inga Irvine and Jack Hayes opened their own gallery in Falmouth in August 2014 to create a home for their vivid and energetic canvases and to support other artists.
No two canvases are the same and the gallery in Church Street is a fascinating place to visit with an ever-changing backdrop of art alongside regular exhibitions. It’s not all about paintings, although that is Jack and Inga’s primary love. They have gathered together a fascinating collection of curios and collectables from all over the world including items imported from eastern India and East Africa, all ethically sourced.
You will also find quirky household items, including chopping boards and benches made from sustainable wood by Studio Haran, and bespoke jewellery. An interesting and unique place to visit in Cornwall.
We love...
Inga’s abstract oil on canvas paintings which are almost three-dimensional in nature and ooze passion in their bold and confident strokes. They are inspired by her memories and also by the Cornish landscape that surrounds her.
