Polurrian Cove
As a picturesque beach in Cornwall; Polurrian is Mullion’s best kept secret.
A trip to Polurrian Cove is like stepping back in time. Although it is one of the Lizard Peninsula’s most beautiful and popular beaches, Polurrian has remained pleasantly unchanged over the years.
A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the beach is sheltered by high cliffs and, at low tide, extends for over 300m. With the nearest car park a ten-minute walk away in the town of Mullion, the beach is naturally secluded and is only accessible via a steep flight of steps.
Whilst no excuse is needed for a trip to Polurrian other than the beach itself, many also take advantage of the proximity of the South West Coast Path in order to explore some of the other nearby coves. The Lizard Peninsula is littered with stunning stretches of sand, ensuring plenty of picturesque places to see, and there is no better way to experience them than on foot.
We love...
Walking south along the beach at low tide to Sandy Pedn-y-ke, found just around the rocky outcrop. This small, quiet inlet makes for a gorgeous little hideaway on a sunny day.
Don't miss...
Dipping your toes into the waves. Polurrian Cove is believed to have some of the best water in the whole of the county and therefore a paddle in the breakers is an absolute must!
