Polzeath
Considering all the attributes Polzeath Beach has to offer, it has remained remarkably unspoilt over decades of popularity, especially with families.
It's a wide beach - and deep when the tide is out - meaning there's plenty of space for everyone. This is one of the Westcountry's top Blue Flag beaches and has been praised by the Marine Conservation Society in its Good Beach Guide for the excellent quality of its water.
Polzeath Beach is a Voluntary Marine Wildlife Reserve and you will often spot dolphins in the bay where the Camel Estuary meets the Atlantic. Many birds can be seen on the clifftops too.
Polzeath is a great, safe, surfing beach in Cornwall where you can hire equipment or learn how to surf and where lifeguards are on patrol in the season.
