Old Barn Tregonetha
The beautiful Old Barn Tregonetha has everything its name would suggest – stone walls, lots of slate outside and plenty of wooden features inside, high vaulted ceilings, a warming Aga at the heart of the kitchen, a log burner and a secluded rural location that offers peace and tranquillity.
Sleeping five and situated close to Wadebridge and Padstow, this 250-year-old barn has been converted into a charming holiday home with character and luxury throughout, in enclosed, well-stocked lawned gardens with plenty of handy parking. The open plan sitting room is on the first floor with doors that open on to a south-facing balcony overlooking the outside space and patio below.
On the ground floor there is a sun room which opens on to the garden and is the perfect spot for a casual breakfast. The Old Barn is well equipped, comfy and welcoming self-catering accommodation.
But for all its familiar barn conversion style with simple, clean and cool contemporary interiors, the Old Barn has some hidden secrets. It is packed with eco-friendly elements that will surprise and delight. There are solar panels for power, underfloor heating, excellent Wi-Fi connections, plenty of modern appliances and a Blu-ray player, iPod dock and Smart TV. Outside there are two electric vehicle charge points.
The property is well insulated and ecologically sound, winning Gold in the Green Tourism Awards and recognition in the Cornwall Sustainability Awards. It has also been awarded 5 stars and a Gold Award by Visit England and won several Cornwall Tourism Awards including Gold in 2017/18 and Gold in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2016/17.
The Old Barn is family friendly (with cot, highchair and stairgate) and pet friendly with enclosed gardens and even dog biscuits in the welcome pack.
We love...
The welcome pack is very welcome indeed. There are some things you might expect – milk, bread, eggs, butter, coffee, tea, cake and a cream tea – but some things you wouldn’t like condiments, herbs, spices, oils, recipe books, board games, flowers and scented candles.
Don't miss...
Something you wouldn’t normally find in a holiday home is a regularly tuned quality piano. So if you know how to play, the piano can be unlocked and you can tickle the ivories to your heart’s content…
