Rick Stein, Porthleven
The latest addition to Rick Stein’s restaurants in Cornwall – opening in November 2014 – is located in prime position on the harbourside at Porthleven. Previously called Clay Quay, the solid granite building with its arched entrances offers a clue to its one-time role as a store for china clay before it was shipped.
Inside is an airy, modern space with lots of light and shiny surfaces, scrubbed wooden tables and utilitarian metal chairs. Interesting art work and clever use of the architecture gives it a funky and casual air.
The menu reflects the laid-back nature of the environment with the starters given over to a selection of little dishes to share – like grilled mackerel, Thai fish cakes or chicken satay. The main courses are influenced by Rick’s travels and include Indonesian Seafood Curry with bass, squid and prawns.
Main meals from £14.50. For more details click here.
