Kynance Cove
Paradise found
Pack a picnic, your suncream, swimsuit, and a good book and hit the road down south. Half an hour from anywhere but worth every nanosecond of the trip, Kynance Cove has been voted one of the world’s best beaches. A single visit will have you hooked.
Pure white sands and startling turquoise waters contrast with 200ft cliffs and dramatic dark green and red serpentine rock, making this one of the most photographed and painted places in the whole of Cornwall. It’s like a desert island connected to the mainland by two paths from the National Trust car park. One path is steep and the other longer but wheelchair friendly.
Check the tide times and visit at mid tide, when you can take a dip in the mermaid pool and keep an eye on the sea for dolphins, or at low tide when you can teach little ones to swim in rock pools deep enough for more than just paddling. A truly beautiful place to see in Cornwall.
