Harlyn Bay

Harlyn Bay

Family fun at Harlyn Bay.

Surfing flawless waves. Sea kayaking beneath dramatic cliffs. Heaps of space for fun and games. Harlyn Bay has all the ingredients to make it one of the best beaches in Cornwall for family fun and well worth a visit.

Beach bums can pick a spot on the sand and relax with a good book and stunning views, whilst active types will love the chance to take to the water. When the sea is like a millpond try stand-up paddle boarding or sea kayaking with the local surf school. Then, when the swell is big on the western beaches, take advantage of some of the best surf waves of any of the beaches in Cornwall – suitable for all levels.

The stunning clear waters of this safe, crescent-shaped bay are consistently awarded for their excellent quality in the annual Good Beach Guide and its proximity to Padstow makes it a summertime magnet. Visit in the quieter months and enjoy a walk along this dog friendly beach to watch the Atlantic rollers and try a bracing walk along the South West Coast Path to Mother Ivey’s Bay or Trevose Head.
