Kennack Sands

Kennack Sands

Two beaches in one

Beautiful Kennack Sands on the Lizard actually offers two stretches of sand in a sheltered bay, separated by the rocky outcrop of Carn Kennack which reaches from the shore into the sea.

The shallow angle of the beach creates waves of 4ft-5ft which make it hugely popular with surfers all year round. There are good facilities here, which will appeal to families visiting Cornwall – including parking, lifeguard cover in summer, a shop and café and toilets.

Kennack Sands is close to the tiny village of Kuggar and parts of the area are given over to a nature reserve, so it’s rich in wildlife. It’s also adjacent to the South West Coast Path for walkers; making it a great places to visit when holidaying in Cornwall.

We love...

When the tide goes out there are lots of rockpools to explore.

Don't miss...

The Lizard is littered with shipwrecks and at Kennack Sands you may be able to spot the remains of the Normand of Nantes which ran aground here in 1914 and can often be seen from the shore at low tide.
