The Elephant Bar and Brasserie
The colonial chic décor of The Elephant Bar and Brasserie features polished wooden tables, elaborate elephant wallpaper and interesting curios that Victorian explorers would have obtained on their travels – giving a taste of what life in The Cornwall Hotel and Estate may have been like in years gone by.
The menu features Cornish produce at its finest - the team of chefs are always busy in the kitchen creating new and inventive dishes which showcase the very best that the county has to offer. Start with the caramelised onion tart or stir-fried local squid, before indulging in the main event. From pan-friend hake with chorizo and fish and chips, to the Cornish steak burger and corn-fed chicken - there’s plenty to choose from. For special occasions why not indulge in the one of the Brassiere’s speciality dishes - including the Cornish fillet steak – cooked pink and served with potato rosti, foie gras butter and a Bordelaise sauce.
Breakfast is an equally indulgent experience at the Brassiere and the buffet consists of a selection of meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and pastries. Cooked dishes include a full Cornish or, if you’re feeling fancy, opt for the oak smoked salmon with scrambled eggs – and for kids there are dippy eggs complete with soldiers.
Sunday lunch at The Cornwall isn’t your average roast dinner. Taking inspiration from the local area, the hotel’s chefs serve a mouth-watering choice of roasted meat, fish and vegetarian dishes every week, so why not visit and experience a Sunday like never before?
No trip to Cornwall is complete without a Cornish cream tea. While away an afternoon on the Parkland Terrace with the Elephant Brassiere’s delicious buttery, crumbly scones, smothered in jam and crowned with dollops of locally produced Rodda’s clotted cream – make the decadent addition of champagne for a truly special treat.
Working up an appetite by exploring the beautiful 43 acres of woodland and gardens, whilst discovering the hotel’s exciting history and magnificent wildlife.
Sitting on the Parkland Terrace, cocktail in hand whilst drinking in the beautiful views of the Pentewan Valley.
