Come summertime there is a plethora of music events and festivals to enjoy in Cornwall – a welcome antidote to the colder months of the year. From beachside gigs, to large-scale events at iconic Cornish landmarks – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Take a look at a few of our favourites for 2016:

Tunes in the Dunes

‘Tunes in the Dunes’ takes place upon the beautiful golden sands of Perranporth Beach, where you’ll find famous names performing against a backdrop of cliffs and endless horizons. Headlining this year is Dizzee Rascal and James Morrison.

Eden Sessions

Panoramic of The Eden Project

The giant biomes at the Eden Project are one of the most atmospheric places to experience live music. Located in a disused quarry, the orb like structures are lit up and the surrounding grounds are alive with the sound of music! Famous names gracing the stage this year include Lionel Richie, Tom Jones and Jess Glynn.

Lusty Glaze Sundowner Sessions

Sundowner Session - Lusty Glaze

Awarded the No.1 spot for ‘the most picturesque live music venue in the UK’ the horseshoe shaped cove at Lusty Glaze is the ultimate natural amphitheatre. The beach has played host to popular artists such as Ben Howard and The Kooks - and this year welcomes Guy Garvey and Newton Faulkner.

Boardmasters

Bringing together sun, surf and spectacular sounds, Boardmasters is back for 2016. This year’s headliners include Chase and Status, Deadmau5, James Bay and the Kaiser Chiefs.

Looe Music Festival

The Looe Music Festival is the perfect way to end the summer. For three days the beautiful seaside town is transformed, with events at every corner. This year’s headliners include Brian Ferry, Wilko Johnson and Fun Lovin Criminals.

Leopallaooza

Dubbed the greatest house party in a field, Leopallooza hosts a fantastic selection of musical talent in a stunningly rural setting near Bude. With a range of music from electro-pop and hard-hitting rock, to chilled house tunes – there’s something for everyone to enjoy. This year’s headliners include Crystal Fighters and Kodaline.
