Nestled on the southeast edge of the Lizard Peninsula, Coverack is a sleepy and timeless village full of traditional thatched cottages and opportunities for tea and cake.
Built from local green serpentine, the small harbour is the perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by as you enjoy delicious local fish and chips. Keen anglers can even catch their own off the harbour walls – wrasse, pollock, mackerel and bass are common catches here.
The delightful beach is a sheltered arc of sand from which you can try your hand at swimming, snorkelling or windsurfing. A little further offshore, you’ll find the Manacles, a notorious reef and rock formation that has laid claim to the lives of many sailors over the years. The number of shipwrecks in the area, along with yawning gulleys, boulder caves and jewel anemones, makes this a very popular spot for scuba divers.
