Marazion

Magical Marazion

One of the UK’s oldest towns and in the ‘Most Beautiful Bays in the world club’ Marazion is the perfect holiday destination - famous for the fairytale castle of St Michael’s Mount.

The town has a great community vibe with many traditional Cornish pubs, art galleries filled with local work and the Marazion museum located in the town hall. Each summer the residents and businesses take part in the ‘In Bloom’ competition, decorating the town with hanging baskets, planters and window boxes creating fantastic sights and scents!

Discover a hive of wildlife and aquatic activity - Marazion Marsh is the largest freshwater reed bed in Europe, where you will find over 500 types of plants and 250 species of birds – Bitterns, for example, are now regular winter visitors. Dolphins, basking sharks, leather back turtles and sometimes seals can be spotted in the bay – for a spectacular view take a leisurely stroll to The Beacon, first lit in 1588 to warn of the Spanish Armada, where you will be greeted by a panoramic view of the bay.

We love...

The Dollan – a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Built and given to the town in 1937 by Lord St Levan to commemorate King George VI’s coronation. This Art Deco-esque viewing platform has a seating area with stunning views of the bay and beyond.

Don't miss...

Marazion’s other beach. Accessed via Leys Lane this stonier beach is home to wonderful rock pools – great for getting up close to the aquatic creatures that live in the bay.
