An Architectural Gem
The most southerly city in the UK - Truro is the heart and hub of Cornwall with its impressive architecture, cobblestone streets, unique shops and a bustling farmer’s market.
Truro Cathedral dominates the skyline with its gothic spires, green copper and stunning Victorian stained glass windows. Wander through the city further and you’ll find Lemon Street and Walsingham Place, the best examples of Georgian architecture south of Bath.
The city is a haven of retail gems - amble through Pydar Mews or down Little Castle Street to be greeted with an abundance of independent and specialist shops.
Whether you’re visiting Cornwall for an afternoon or long weekend there’s plenty to see and do in Truro. Try out one of the city’s mouth-watering eateries, for example, watch a play at the Hall for Cornwall or visit the Royal Cornwall Museum to find out about the county’s fascinating heritage – the possibilities are endless.
We love...
The Victoria Gardens – designed for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and a stone’s throw from the city centre. Full of exotic plants and luscious lawns, it was one of only four parks nominated in the 2014 National Britain in Bloom awards and is well worth a visit!
Don't miss...
Truro’s markets – The Panier Market, Lemon Street Market and the weekly farmers’ markets are a great place to explore everything Cornish, from wonderful Cornish food to a whole host of Cornish creations.
