Portscatho

Nestled in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula, Portscatho is a small east-facing fishing village brimming with character. Whilst there are still several working fishing boats in the harbour, the village is now hugely popular with visitors thanks to its picturesque setting and charm. Take in the panoramic views across the coastline to the Nare head and stroll along the sand and pebble beach where Portscatho meets the water’s edge.

Scattered throughout the village are numerous galleries full of the creations of talented local artists, inspired by the Cornish landscape. There is also a pub, several cafes and restaurants, as well as a few shops. Ascending up the hill and a mere stone’s throw away, Portscatho adjoins Gerrans, home to a local heritage centre dedicated to the history of the surrounding area.

Whether you are alone, with family, or on a romantic getaway, Portscatho feels worlds apart from the hustle and bustle of the larger nearby villages and is the perfect place to get away from it all.
