Hayle

A family haven and watersports' hotspot

With three miles of golden beaches, it’s no wonder Hayle is a magnet for young families and watersports’ enthusiasts. Accommodation is plentiful and wide-ranging, from holiday villages hidden in the sand dunes to caravan and camping sites.

Hayle is one of the best places in Cornwall for families with plenty of attractions in the area. Hayle Towans and Godrevy beaches are perfect places to build an impenetrable sandcastle fortress, hunt for sea urchins in the rockpools or bury Dad in the sand.

Hayle is great for watersports too from snorkeling to windsurfing and sailing to body boarding. And, of course, if surfing’s your bag them you’ll be in hang-ten heaven here.

Hayle Estuary, which pours into St Ives Bay, is an RSPB sanctuary and keen twitchers can spot waders, gulls, terns and the occasional osprey at the water’s edge.
