Situated in West Cornwall between the towns of Helston and Penzance, Praa Sands is home to a beautiful, sandy white beach and far reaching views of Mount’s Bay. The village has a fantastic range of local facilities - including a lively pub on the beachfront, post office, general shop and a golf club.
On either side of the beach, the South West Coastal Path provides spectacular views of Penzance and the Lizard Peninsula. The landscape of undulating hills and endless horizons are scattered with interesting villages, churches and historic sites.
In the village is a war-memorial, unveiled in 2013 for the crew of a Sunderland flying boat, which crash-landed on the beach in World War II - having being shot at by eight German fighter planes. Local people took the crew into their homes offering them medical attention, however sadly one of the crew, Ted Miles was killed.
This charming village is a beautiful place to visit in Cornwall whatever the time of year, with plenty of things to do from long-walks along the cliff-tops to participating in the open mic nights at the local pub.
