St Agnes

Quintessentially Cornish

Play beach games on one of four stunning beaches. Join the brave knight Sir Constantine as he defeats a giant called Bolster in the annual May Day pageant. Or simply kick back and enjoy an early evening pint of cask ale brewed on site at the Driftwood Spars. St Agnes one of the most charming villages in Cornwall and the ultimate beach destination.

Take a walk along the cliff tops to discover iconic abandoned engine houses that whisper tales of Cornwall’s tin mining past. Today this rare heathland habitat is home to a plethora of plants and wildlife. Gaze out to sea and you might spot a dolphin, or even a basking shark. It’s little wonder this area is both a World Heritage Site and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Hike up to St Agnes Beacon, once used to light fires warning of invasion, and now offering stunning panoramic views. Or try kayaking or coasteering for a very different angle on this beautiful landscape.

The World Bellyboard Championships in early September at Chapel Porth beach. Watch riders in vintage swimwear brave the waves — or even register to take part!

Don't miss...

Stippy Stappy. Nine 18th century cottages that cascade down the hillside like something out of a children’s book. A leafy walk alongside leads to the sea.
