This area of Cornwall simply oozes romance in charming place names such as Cadgwith, Coverack, St Keverne, Mullion, Kynance, Poldhu and Porthleven. It’s a magical quarter where the air is fresh, the skies and the sea are a vivid blue and the land is rich in flora and fauna.
The sub-tropical climate in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has helped unusual species to thrive, including 15 of the country’s rarest plants. Victorian plant hunters brought back trees, shrubs and plants from their travels, many of which had never been seen in this country before. In the warm Cornish air they took pride of place in private estates where they can still be seen today.
The Lizard remains as it has for many years – unspoilt and beautiful, from the lush Helford River and the tiny fishing villages to the sandy bays and pretty beaches - fantastic for days out exploring Cornwall.
